Afoxolaner is administered once a month, with the dosage based on your dog’s body weight. As such it is important to weigh your dog before administering Afoxolaner and only use the product designed for their size. Toxicity can occur when using the wrong product.

Chewables may be offered by hand or broken up and incorporated with a small amount of food. Afoxolaner may be administered with or without food. To ensure the full chewable has been taken, monitor your dog during and for some minutes after treatment to check no part of the dose is lost or rejected. If it is suspected that any of the doses have been lost within two hours, treat again with another full dose.

Treatment for fleas and ticks can begin at any time of year and recommended to continue year-round in areas where fleas and ticks are common. Afoxolaner should be administered at the same time each month to ensure maximum efficacy.
