Questions & Answers
Question:
I use Advocate 4-10kg for my dog monthly (he is 9kg) and I usually get him a Drontal worming tablet every 3 months from the vet for I think, tape worm (which ever worm isnt treated with Advocate) Is your Drontal all wormer $4.95 the right substitute for this as it seems to do a lot of worms that are already treated by the Advocate?
Answer:
Most people don't bother with de-worm tablets if they use Advocate. As you said it covers most of the worms. However you are right Advocate doesn't covers tapeworms and yes Drontal covers it. You can use them together to make sure your dog don't get any worms.
Question:
I have an 8 week old chihuahua, that weighs under 3kilos. What dosage of Drontal tablet would she get?
Answer:
Hi, Thanks for the enquiry. Generally 1 tablet of the 10KG products can be given to small dogs from 2 weeks of age. Always best to confirm with your veterinarian. I hope that helps.
Question:
I SEE THAT SOMEONE ALSO HAS ASKED HOW OFTEN DO YOU NEED TO DE-WORM AN ADULT DOG...I USE DRONTAL PLUS AND GIVE MY DOGS EACH 4 TABLETS (their wt. is 40kilos each dog, but these 4 tablets is a 6moth dosage.) i can't tell from this description if this is monthly or as i currently do, i.e. 6 months. thank you in advance
Answer:
the correct dosage is design to be taken every 3 months.
Question:
what age can i start to give my pups drontal plus?
Answer:
Pups are usually born with worms since they are more susceptible when they are very young. It is advisable, therefore, to start a worming programme at 2 weeks of age, and to continue worming once a fortnight until 12 weeks old. Then it's ok every 2-3 months.
Question:
How often do I give this tablet for an adult dog?
Answer:
Generally 1 tablet for every 10 kilograms. Check the instructions for use in the packet and with your animals veterinarian for the exact amount.
