Heartworm can be a silent killer because it will go unnoticed by owners most of the time. Heartworm larvae are transmitted by infected mosquitoes. When the infected mosquito bites, the larvae pass through the tissue into the bloodstream. It’s virtually impossible to stop mosquitos from biting your fur babies, so pet owners need to protect them against heartworm.
Administer the appropriate combination of chewables
Heartgard Plus chewables should be chewed, not swallowed whole. The chewables may be broken into pieces and fed to dogs that normally swallow treats whole.
Heardgard Plus can be taken together with NexGard for all-round protection against fleas and ticks.
The reported adverse reactions are: Depression/lethargy, vomiting, anorexia, diarrhea, mydriasis, ataxia, staggering, convulsions and hypersalivation.
Heartgard Plus may cause sensitivities in certain dogs of the herding breeds. Please consult your veterinarian before administering them to your pet.
What special precautions are there?
Do not give Heartgard Plus to your pet if it is taking another heartworm medication.
